SOUL JANITOR: Free-to-play horror game on Steam

In addition to my role in creating the game, I also took on the task of creating the game's trailer.

In this horror game, you play as a janitor who was hired to clean out an old, thought-to-be-abandoned warehouse. However, you quickly realize that there is much more to this warehouse than a few dirty bathrooms. Armed only with your trusty spray bottle, you must fight and explore your way through the labyrinthine warehouse to complete your contract and unravel the mysteries of the facility. Project:

As a Game Design Minor student at Elon University, I was the level designer for a game that was recently published on Steam, called Soul Janitor. I used Unity to design the game's levels, which I worked on with a team of my peers for 4 months.

Process:

  • I started by sketching out the levels, designing the paths the player would take. I wanted each level to have a different feel, so I worked hard to diversify their looks and layouts.

  • Next, I began modeling the levels. As the level designer, I was responsible for creating the look of the game. We used a modular asset pack, so I blocked out the levels with these pieces within Unity.

  • Finally, I put smaller, finishing touches on the levels. The lighting was greatly improved, enhancing the spookiness of the game.

  • I recorded footage and edited the final trailer for the game. This trailer is used on the Steam page to promote the game.

CLASH OF SYNDICATES: Board Game

Student project for Game Design Minor, Elon University

Project:

"Clash of Syndicates" is a fantasy-themed territorial conquest-style strategy game. What sets this game apart is its rich variety of unit types, each endowed with distinct magic powers and abilities. The backdrop of this adventure is the port city of Kyros, a once-gleaming medieval city, now vulnerable in the aftermath of a revolution. As the player, you step into the shoes of a devious crime syndicate leader, driven by the ambition to claim the city as your own. However, the path to dominance is contested by two other formidable syndicates, each eyeing the same prize. Your mission? Seize control of all nine distinct districts of Kyros. The journey is fraught with challenges: vanquish your adversaries in intense street battles, strategically deploy varied units for combat, provide healing for your forces, and strengthen your defenses. The mastery of this game lies in skillfully navigating these elements to emerge as the ultimate ruler of the city.

Story:

“Clash of Syndicates" takes place in the port city of Kyros, now rattled by revolutionary upheaval. After a recent uprising, the once-sturdy grip of the government has been weakened, presenting a golden opportunity for the city's underground powers to rise.

The Blue Team assumes the role of the Scourgers, a notorious gang woven into the city's fabric for decades. Operating under the guise of the local Merchant's Guild, The Scourgers have long profited from the shadows, trafficking forbidden wares. They exert control over the city's commerce, coercing independent shopkeepers into their fold under threat of violence. With the city in chaos, the Scourgers, led by the enigmatic crime boss known as the Rat, see their chance to seize total control of Kyros.

The Red Team steps into the boots of the Bloody Blades, sea-hardened pirates known for their relentless plundering. As masters of the ocean, they prey on vulnerable ships and coastal towns. The upheaval in Kyros has caught their predatory eye, presenting an irresistible target. Commanded by the fearsome Captain Fernando, the Bloody Blades are poised to extend their reign of terror to the streets of Kyros.

Lastly, the Yellow Team plays as the Jackals, a band of battle-hardened mercenaries initially enlisted by the city's government to quell the revolution. However, sensing the tide turning against them, the Jackals, led by the formidable Jackal Queen, shift their allegiance to their own ambitious cause – claiming Kyros for themselves.

Each syndicate, driven by their unique motivations and led by charismatic figures, vies for supremacy in the tumultuous cityscape of Kyros, setting the stage for an epic struggle of cunning, strength, and strategy.
